Increasingly remote care is playing a larger role in how people interact with healthcare, but is it targeting patients at the right time? I’ll discuss how we’ve built a remote care platform as a preventative service, focused on reducing the risk of cardiovascular events like a heart attack or stroke. What makes this particularly upsetting is that despite the fact that cardiovascular disease causes 1 in 4 deaths in England, is the number one killer globally, and is a leading cause of morbidity, disability and health inequalities, it is largely preventable. So this silent killer, that will have life changing repercussions through generations of a family could potentially have been avoided. It has never been more important to better understand our own health and the risks we face. I will talk about our live efforts to re-imagine people’s relationship with health by taking a digital preventative remote care approach and engaging people in early detection programmes. This will create a healthier, happier society, and a more cost effective, balanced healthcare system able to redirect resources to other areas that need it.
