The healthcare system is facing many complex challenges and the need for it to be efficient, making sure care stays affordable and accessible for our growing population, is one of them. Digitalisation can be an answer. Today, health professionals use many digital tools to fasten the care process, and patients can easily schedule their own healthcare appointments, to speed up and alleviate the process. We see a big opportunity to use digitalisation to give more autonomy to patients and their surroundings. Because navigating through our current scattered healthcare landscape can be very difficult for them due to; scattered information, contact with many different healthcare professionals and no clear expectation management. And this all while being in a very emotional state. In this talk, we share several cases and learnings on how Service Design and UX are a match made in heaven to smooth the healthcare journey for patients and unburden their caregivers, by digitalization.
