Karin Bogdanova is a PhD researcher in human-computer interaction in AI DeMoS Lab at TU Delft. Her research examines AI-based passive monitoring for psychiatry, specifically bipolar disorder, exploring how these tools can reduce burden of service users and generate clinically meaningful data for practitioners. She investigates how AI tools can be aligned with existing care practices, processes, and systems, taking a multi-scale approach rather than focusing on a single tool in isolation. Drawing on anthropology and service innovation, she develops participatory methods to engage service users, clinicians, and innovation managers in anticipating how AI-based tools might transform mental healthcare. She has presented her work, led workshops and published at international design conferences in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Japan.
