Dr. Morshedzadeh is an Associate Professor at the University of Houston and Founder and Director of the Health Design Lab. In her work, she applies a translational approach grounded in human-center design principals and participatory research and design to enhance healthcare experiences, technologies, and outcomes across clinical, personal and community settings.

Collaborating at the intersection of design, healthcare, community and emerging technologies, Dr. Morshedzadeh leads interdisciplinary projects with clinicians, engineers, patients, policy makers and caregivers to address challenges in verity of subjects such as rehabilitation, telehealth, digital health, aging, and AI-enabled healthcare. Her research has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and other public and private partners.

She has received national and international recognition and currently serves as Chair of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Education Council.  Her goal is to support healthier lives and more equitable systems of care by advancing design as a translation between research, technology, and human experience.
