Tim is a PhD Candidate at The University of Melbourne, exploring ethics and privacy in the design of digital health technologies. Outside of uni, Tim works as a consultant on projects in the public health and health service design space. Tim’s experience as a carer of someone with a complex mental illness has shaped his interest in the design of the mental health care sector. Tim is interested in how we improve the experience of people having to retell their story when accessing
different services. This interest in ‘the story’ and having grown up in a rapidly digitizing world has inspired Tim to understand how we improve information continuity across services, while also respecting the sensitive and personal nature of each individual’s story. Underpinning all of Tim’s work is a passion for ensuring our information-driven world is equitable and just for all people, especially those with a lived experience of mental illness.
