Nick is an ethnographer. He is the founder of Naked Eye and a pioneer of ethnographic film methods to understand human behaviour. He trained as a Human Factors designer on the MSc programme at UCL and with design company IDEO on innovative user-centered research methodologies. Since then he has worked with leading health, tech and consumer companies to improve customer experience and engagement. Projects have taken him to townships in South Africa, clinics in Taiwan, rural villages in Tanzania to megacities in China to study Traditional Chinese Medicine.
His ethnographic film and VR work has been shown at educational events, global medical marketing conferences, and TV channels. Most recently he worked as an Executive Producer on the documentary ‘Against the Tides’ an award-winning feature-length documentary that follows marathon swimmer and world record holder Beth French, as she sets out to swim the seven most dangerous sea-channels in the world.
